WODES/NCBL Relief Fund
6 days after the massive earthquake of Saturday, the death toll has crossed 5800[Quake toll rises to 5858, The Himalayan Times (May 1, 2015)]. Search and rescue teams continue to pull people out from collapsed buildings. Around 14,000 people have been treated for injuries[National Emergency Operation Centre, Ministry of Home Affairs].
Moreover, the earthquake has also forced thousands of people into temporary camps. These people are in need of proper food, clean drinking water, shelters and safe sanitizing methods. Without these life-saving supports, hunger and outbreak of diseases is imminent.
Women Development Society (WODES) and Ban Landmines Campaign Nepal (NCBL) have partnered to provide relief to those affected by this calamity through the WODES/NCBL relief fund. This fund will provide food, tents and other basic supplies to families in areas severely affected by the earthquake. Our focus districts are Dhading, Chitwan, Gorkha, Rasuwa, Kavre, Sindhupalchowk, Nuwakot, Bhaktapur and Kathmandu.
